ABOUT

LEANNE GARNER    BSC HONS ITEC DIP PTST

With a passion for anatomy & physiology and a background in nursing, I retrained as a massage therapist in 2000 and as a sports therapist and personal trainer in 2001. Along the way I also became a Level 2 triathlon coach, a Level 2 swimming coach and a firefighter.

Loving sport myself, I understand the desire to reach personal goals, and the frustration of injuries along the way. It's what motivates me to help people to prevent those injuries in the first place, and to treat any that do occur. I do believe that the body is very good at healing itself, but sometimes needs a helping hand to speed things along a little, and I take a holistic mind-body approach to this.

I regularly update my knowledge with CPD courses and my therapy ‘tool box’ includes various types of soft tissue techniques, medical acupuncture, kinesiology taping, myofascial work and client education.

I have worked with triathletes, runners and cyclists in the Brighton area, mountain sports lovers in the resorts of Whistler, Les Deux Alpes and Morzine, and people of all ages and backgrounds - which makes my work really interesting.

In 2019 I qualified as a Stott Pilates matwork instructor, and more recently as a Pilates Reformer instructor, and love passing on knowledge that really helps clients to develop a mind-body awareness and optimal movement for sport, and for functional life. See my Pilates page for more benefits!

In my spare time, I have competed in many marathons, ultramarathons and triathlons, having represented Team GB at age group level, and I'm at my happiest running or snowboarding with my dogs in the mountains :)
